Intro to Community Organizing with Illinois People’s Action
Intro to Community Organizing with Illinois People’s Action
Feb 25, 6:30-8:00 in the Fell Room
Join us on Wednesday, February 25 at 6:30 PM for a 90 minute training to Introduce you to Community Organizing with Illinois People’s Action (IPA) hosted by the UUBN Social Justice Team and Bloomington Normal 50501.
IPA is a faith and community-based organization with roots in the UU Church. Francis Irvin was a founding member of the organization. IPA has a 30-year history of winning on issues in downstate Illinois. Our grassroots approach builds from the bottom up. The issues on which we organize are surfaced by our members, our campaign strategy and tactics are developed by members in concert with trained staff. We organize to get our members seats at the table with decision-makers. And our record of wins demonstrates that organized people can move us from the world as it is to the world as we want it to be.
