Community Concerns Team
Purpose: The purpose of the CCT is to promote service and provide financial support by members and friends of UUBN to charitable organizations in our community. Through the liaisons assigned to each charitable group, we distribute contributions to those organizations.
Activities and Accomplishments:
· Continued partnership with Safe Harbor, providing 12 meals each third Sunday of the month, to residents and visitors. Half of the year is supported by volunteers from the congregation and the other half is supported by our youth group.
· With budget constraints, the Community Concerns Team no longer has a budgeted amount to use to support other organizations or expense items related to the team. This required one of the monthly plate offerings to be designated toward funding the meals for Safe Harbor. The congregation provided exceptional support, which allowed for an increase in the quality and quantity of food provided.
· Contributions to the monthly plate offering totaled $23,746.19, a 39% increase in donations compared to 2023.
