Bloomington Normal 50501 is hosting a June 14th watch party for Rise Up, Sing Out: A Concert for the First Amendment. Doors open at 6:00 PM, with 90-minutes of music beginning at 6:30 PM. The watch party is at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Bloomington Normal, located at 1613 East Emerson Street in Bloomington. This event is free and open to all. Rise Up, Sing Out is a presentation of the Committee for the First Amendment. The watch party features an uplifting evening of song, solidarity, and action. Rise Up, Sing Out includes an all-star line-up of performers celebrating the freedoms guaranteed by our First Amendment; of speech, religion, press, assembly, and protest, and the people power that both fuels these rights and is essential to guarantee them. Rise Up, Sing Out features Bette Midler, Patti Smith, Rufus Wainwright, Sasha Allen, Joy Reid, Peppermint, Julia Roberts, and many others.
