Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation Class with IMCBN
Saturday, April 19th, from 9:30am – 11:30am, in the Walker Room
Through step-by-step guidance this class will help you become more familiar with the practice of mindfulness meditation. We will briefly talk about, “What is mindfulness?” & “How do you practice?” Then we will explore the practice by starting with short meditation sessions and gradually building up to longer sessions. After each session we will review and discuss our experiences during practice. This process allows you to better understand what you are doing as you are doing it, building on what you learn each time you practice. The hope is that we all leave this class feeling more confident and capable in our practices of mindfulness meditation.
The Insight Meditation Community of Bloomington-Normal offers this class based on donation. The recommended donation is $25. Any amount will be accepted. No one will be refused.

This class is being taught by Ryan Barfoot. Ryan is the guiding teacher at IMCBN and a graduate of Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach’s Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program. Ryan has been practicing meditation since 2016 and loves sharing the practice of meditation with others. Ryan is a member of UUBN and assists in teaching the Religious Exploration program at UUBN.
