Safety Marshal Training with Bloomington Normal 50501

Safety marshals are a critical component of effective protest organizing. They are not security. They are trained community members who understand crowd dynamics, de-escalation, and legal rights. They are there to make it possible for everyone else to participate with confidence.

BloNo50501 is hosting a Safety Marshal Training on Tuesday, March 24th at 6:30 PM at UUBN Church in Bloomington-Normal. The training is specifically designed to prepare volunteers for the No Kings 3.0 rally on March 28th.

Topics will include rally safety protocols, communication and positioning, emergency response procedures, and de-escalation tactics.
If you have ever wanted to contribute to something beyond showing up at a rally, this is a awesome, skill-based way to do that.
