Please join Survivor Love Letter and YWCA Stepping Stones on Sunday, April 16th after service (11:00 to noon) in the Fell Room to write letters and create art in honor and support of survivors of sexual violence. Stepping Stones will be in attendance with information on local resources for survivors. All are welcome to attend! The second annual Survivor Love Letter gallery will be hosted at The CoffeeHouse in Uptown Normal during April, Sexual Assault Awareness Month.The intention of this gallery is to surround survivors with love, support, and understanding, while spreading awareness about the widespread, underreported nature of sexual assault. The gallery is open to submissions of all forms of art and writing exploring the theme “Survivor Love Letter”. This could be a love letter to yourself, a previous version of yourself, a survivor of sexual assault you love, or a survivor you have never met. Join us to create art and write letters on April 16th, or submit works ahead of time by emailing Kylie at [email protected] (anonymous submissions are welcome.) After being displayed at The CoffeeHouse in April, submissions will travel to welcome survivors at Resilient Voices, a retreat for survivors of sexual violence.
