Religious Exploration Registration
Sunday Morning Religious Exploration for Children & Youth
Annual registration for children in childcare to 12th grade helps us make decisions about safer group sizes, teaching teams, and room space. For a paper copy, contact Terina Carter, Director of Religious Exploration, [email protected], or Blair Broughton, Office Manager, 309.828.0235.

When I say, go in peace, I mean “Go in the peace that is created when, together, We build communities of true solidarity, deep compassion, and fierce, unrelenting love.” – Jim Magaw
Peace doesn’t just happen – we have to work for it. Peace education helps create a foundation for a more just and harmonious world by nurturing the attitudes and skills needed to handle conflicts peacefully and constructively. – Global Village School
28 Sunday mornings of Practicing Peace!
In Religious Exploration Ministry, each child is valued and respected as an active learner who needs a caring, trusting atmosphere in which to think and reflect. We foster deep-rooted values they’ll keep throughout their whole lives. Our children learn inspiring stories about peace building so that when conflict arises, they know changes can be made to avoid violence, and they practice the skills needed to work toward peaceful resolutions. Through church and community service projects, they will participate in activities that serve the community rather than only themselves. Teachers aim to be role models (usually learning as much in the lessons as the children).
Our Whole Lives (OWL) Sexuality Education for 10th, 11th, and 12th Grades
We’ll build connections, friendships, and covenant before OWL begins later in the church year. The OWL schedule is based on facilitator availability, size of the group, and family schedules. Our Whole Lives: Sexuality Education for Grades 10–12 helps teens acquire information and skills while they gain confidence in their ability to make decisions aligned with their values and life goals. Unitarian Universalist values are affirmed through ritual, readings, and discussion prompts that put sexuality education into the context of our faith.
All Ages Sundays
