2. Scrip—Gift Cards That Raise Funds
You can help raise money for the church with the purchases you make every day at the supermarket, gas station, and other places you shop!
Here's how it works: The church obtains special gift cards or gift certificates (called scrip) at a discount. You buy and use them at face value. (For example, a $25 scrip card buys you $25 worth of merchandise.) The profit goes to the church operating budget.
You can place an order for scrip from hundreds of merchants. The more scrip you buy, the more money we raise!
Most of the scrip cards can be ordered via internet from ShopwithScrip from the Great Lakes Scrip Center. This program is established to be easy to administer by using the payment option PrestoPay. You can learn as much as you would like about the program by visiting http://www.glscrip.com including a list of all the retailers.

Use the code provided in 1. to use to register your Family with UUBN

Fill out your individual family information.

Once signed up an in the ShopforScrip website, look for the option PrestoPay.

Go through the PrestoPay sign up.

This will allow your purchases to be paid via your checking account.

This process will take two different days.
- One to do the initial sign up.
- Enter the deposit amounts from GLSC to complete the security process.

Also, you can sign up directly with Schnucks by picking up a card at their locations and following the on-line registration. The funds from this program are sent to the church. The maximum amount from Schnucks is 2% if you spend $900 or more per month. The average return is likely around 1% of purchases.
Whereas, the average funds received through Great Lakes scrip program are between 3.5% - 4.0% per order.
3. GoodSearch
Support our church just by searching or shopping online!
GoodSearch.com is a Yahoo-powered search engine that donates half its advertising revenue, about a penny per search, to the charities its users designate. Use it just as you would any search engine and help raise money for our church!
From the GoodSearch page, you can click on GoodShop to help the church even more. At this online shopping mall, you'll find hundreds of great stores, like Target, Best Buy, eBay, Macy's, and Barnes & Noble. You can donate a percentage of each purchase to the Universalist Unitarian Church of Bloomington-Normal.
