• Review and initiate appropriate UUA programs
• Review and initiate programs available in the community appropriate for our adult program
• Act as a link between community activities and our Church by publicizing or otherwise lending support to such activities (such as Clare House and Loaves & Fishes, Audubon Society)
• Encourage individuals in the Church to present workshops, speeches or other programs

Library

The purpose of the Library Committee is to oversee the Adlai E. Stevenson Library. Among its responsibilities are to:

• Select books for addition to the collection
• Shelve new and returned books
• Label books using the Dewey Decimal System
• Sponsor used book sales with proceeds to benefit the library
• Collect and sort used books donated by members and friends for book sales
• Maintain the physical appearance and furnishings of the room

Youth Religious Education

The purpose of this Committee is to plan and coordinate the religious activities of the Youth Religious Education program. Among its responsibilities are to:

• Assist the RE Director in recruiting, training and supporting leaders for Religious Education classes
• Consult with the RE Director to determine religious education curriculum
• Maintain the Marilyn Gnagey Religious Education Library
• Assist leaders and the Director of Religious Education in planning, locating materials and carrying out their programs
• Recommend basic policies for religious education to the Board of Directors
• Recommend an annual budget for religious education to the Finance Committee
• Attend monthly meetings throughout the Church school year to support each other in completing programs on the RE calendar
• Cooperate with the RE Director to maintain weekly enrollment and attendance data
• Assist with yearly performance evaluation of the Director of Religious Education
